Good food, Good babies, Good God its hot here!

Hi there Laura again….

Today was a pretty good day we were scheduled to go to a museum but when we got there it was closed.

So we went to this river front park which was beautiful but after about 20 minutes in the heat we were over it and came back to the hotel. It was at least 106 here today and we have all decided that touring in this heat pretty well stinks …. Even our guide today was over it.

This afternoon our guide arranged for a calligraphist to come to the hotel. She has been drawing Chinese character since she was 5 and she was probably my age. So she drew Zoe's Chinese name, date of birth, and her home town, on a silk scroll. Really it is stunning. A true special gift from her home town.

Our guide Grace arranged an amazing dinner for us tonight at a local Chinese restaurant around the corner. The food was sooooo delicious. Grace is the perfect Chinese guide for us. She knows the culture, the food, and enough about Americans to combine the two in a great way. It also helps that our group of four families is all pretty laid back and wants to experience the culture here, to a point. By that I mean no one is picking out there own snake or worms for the cook to prepare for dinner. We have our limits.

The babies all continue to come out of their shells. Just when you think you Zoe can't get any cuter she pulls another trick out of her hat. I can't wait for you all to meet her.

So for those of you who don't know about addiction to fine China, pottery, and crystal let's just say it's my thing! Some people have shoes, purses, jewelry whatever mine is fine china. Nanchang the city we are currently in is known for it's fine porcelain … and guess what we get to do tomorrow…. We are going to the porcelain street. Seriously? An entire street of porcelain? Life is so good. Sucks to be Harvey's wallet. :) At least when we get to the pearl and Jade markets you don't have to ship things. I am hoping to show lots of restraint we will see how it goes. A co worker in Indianapolis many years back gave me a Koozie once that said "Life is short use the good china"
