Sorry for the delayed posting - been having email problems here.
Today (Now yesterday) Laura visited the Jade Store. First in, Last out. They taught us about what to look for when purchasing jade and asked which of 4 pieces we (the group) thought was the most expensive. Laura not only nailed it, she pointed out several other high price pieces around the store without prompting.
The entire group feels sorry for me. With good reason.
We then went to a temple - very nice - that is now a museum. After that, Laura went shopping on the streets around the hotel. So here are some pictures of the temple and (After the tree) the local architecture (very European/Asian), including some statues in the park across the street. The pretty Chinese lady is "Grace," our guide. The large boy is an 18 month boy who is built like a truck. He weighs more than Zachary at 3 1/2! The large white hotel-looking building is the White Swan hotel.
I stayed in while Zoe didn't take a nap and had a meltdown. When Laura got back from her shopping spree (she got some nice items very cheap), we fed her again and she finally took a nap. She just woke up and she's woofing down a bottle as I write this. She has quite an appetite!
More pics on snapfish!
[updated] Went out to dinner at the local "American" joint, Lucy's, after our guide had to go to the hospital with one of the families got sick. We were supposed to go
to a Thai place, but our guide had to take one family to the hospital because there adopted boy has a stomach bug. He'll be fine after some hydration and antibiotics. We had a good dinner with our group and headed back to the hotel.
