"How Much does an Adoption Cost?" is one of those questions that I get asked, often somewhat uncomfortably. The cost has nothing to do with how we value our daughter - she's priceless. Its just that people are uncomfortable asking about money, especially big sums. But its an important question if you want to adopt - can you afford it?
Here then is how much we spent. A few expenses may be missing, but this is pretty close. Details follow, but the short answer for us is $38K.

Correction: Agency fees were $5000, not $3000.
ReplyDeleteAlso, we upgraded our hotel rooms ($1600) and seats ($250) to economy plus on the way back from Hong Kong to San Francisco. Totally worth it.
